Paul Slater

paul-slaterPaul was born in Staffordshire in 1959 and educated at Rydal School Colwyn Bay, Christ Church College, Oxford and Chester College of Law.

Since 1989 he has been a partner with the firm of Hand Morgan and Owen in Stafford where he specialises in commercial and residential property work.

He lives in Stone, with his wife Clare and daughter Geraldine, where he is a governor of St. Dominic’s Priory School. His involvement in the voluntary sector includes acting as Chairman of Wilford House Residential Home and as Treasurer of the William Salt Library in Stafford. His many other interests include cricket, and the arts, especially music.

Paul has been Under Sheriff of Staffordshire since 2008 when he was first appointed by the then High Sheriff, Katie Evans. He says:

It has been a huge privilege and pleasure to serve eight High Sheriffs to date, all of whom have brought great dignity and credit to their ancient office and have given selflessly of their time and talents to our wonderful county.”
