It is with great sadness that we report Paul’s death on 22nd February at the age of 59.
The thoughts of all the High Sheriffs he served so wisely and diligently over the years are with his wife Clare, daughter Geraldine, family and colleagues.
Paul was born in Staffordshire in 1959 and educated at Rydal School Colwyn Bay, Christ Church, Oxford and Chester College of Law.
Since 1989 he has been a partner with the firm of Hand Morgan and Owen in Stafford where he specialises in commercial and residential property work.
He lives in Stone with his wife Clare and daughter Geraldine. His involvement in the voluntary sector includes acting as Treasurer of the William Salt Library in Stafford and as an active member of the Parochial Church Council of St. Mary’s Church. His many other interests include cricket and the arts, especially music.
Paul has been Under Sheriff of Staffordshire since 2008 when he was first appointed by the then High Sheriff, Katie Evans. He says:
“It has been a huge privilege and pleasure to serve ten High Sheriffs to date, all of whom have brought great dignity and credit to their ancient office and have given selflessly of their time and talents to our wonderful county.”
The Under Sheriff is supported by his Clerk, Miss Pat Chilton.
