I was delighted to attend the celebrations to mark the 102nd birthday of WWII veteran Norman Lewis, at TriServices in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
I particularly enjoyed hearing Norman’s story of his escape from a POW camp in Eastern Europe after being captured at Dunkirk, and his epic journey walking across Ukraine to The Black Sea, and then by sea to Constantinople, through the Mediterranean to Gibralta and then back to the UK.
TriServices & Veteran Support is a voluntary charity for veterans of all our armed services and they hosted a wonderful event.
