On the 17th September, Staffordshire-based Conversion Rate Experts received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and I was lucky enough to be invited to the presentation ceremony.
Established by Ben Jesson and Karl Blanks, Conversion Rate Experts is the world’s leading agency for Conversion Rate Optimization – a term coined by the company in 2007 – and has helped some of the world’s biggest companies increase their profits by improving their online conversion rates.
The company won its first Queen’s award in 2017 for Innovation. This latest honour was presented in recognition of its achievements in International Trade for “Measurably growing the world’s leading web companies by redesigning their websites using a customer-centric methodology”.
The business is based in Staffordshire (Karl and Ben both live in the county) but the people who work in the business come from far and wide. It is essentially a ‘virtual’ company with colleagues living in various parts of the UK, USA, Europe and Australia. Many of these colleagues were present on the day to receive the award from the Lord Lieutenant, Mr Ian Dudson.
It is amazing that such a world-leading company has its roots in our county. I would like to congratulate Ben, Karl and their team on this most recent accolade and for putting Staffordshire at the forefront of global online innovation.
