A very lively afternoon at Samson park. The carers and their charges enjoyed a tea sponsored by their patrons. Followed by a sing song.

We enjoyed our visit to the police cadets at Longton fire station. They were extremely well turned out, and as always there indefatigable organiser Graham Smout turned up trumps with umbrellas in the rain.

The Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent was installed at Stoke Minster. A relaxed event attended by friends and relatives. We wish him a great year in office.

A very nice Friday evening at Staffordshire university. A big thank you to Ray who showed us round all the exhibitions , and good luck to Fay with her degree to be announced shortly.

Tuesday 23 May 2017. A visit to the Royal Garden Party with our children,. A beautiful afternoon which we all enjoyed.

Opened Art in the Park in Leek. Here I am with Andy Collins. Who runs Borderland Voices a group which helps with mental problems.

Mayor of East Staffordshire was installed at Burton on Trent. We both enjoyed a buffet supper. Simon Gaskin was supported by friends and relatives.

We both enjoyed an evening at Keele hall. At the installation of the new mayor Simon White.

Judy and I paid a visit to St Marks church where on a Thursday refugees and asylum seekers meet. Much help is offered, and guidance given. The life and future of these people is a very modern problem which frequently goes unnoticed and ignored. Well done Reverend Sally and the team.

Wednesday 17th May. We both visited the Stoke on Trent University Hospital. The nurse were very kind, and we had the good fortune to visit Mrs Valerie Bowers pictured here recovering well from her operation only two days before.

Today I attended a service at the National Arboretum given to celebrate the commitment of the church to the military. Myself with Bishop Michael of Lichfield.

We both visited the police cadets evening at Cannock. Here we are with cadet Matthew Hindley. Who will be joining us on events this year.

The visiting High Sheriff of Shropshire attended the court opening on Friday. His honour Judge Chambers, friends and family enjoyed a service at St Mary’s Stafford to open the new legal term. Afterwards all were welcomed to a lunch at the County Buildings.

Thursday 11th May. Enjoyed the reserves AGM at the Chateau Impney hotel. Met with the High Sheriffs of Shropshire and Worcestershire.

The Staffordshire Moorlands District Council elected their new chairman on Wednesday 10th of May 2017.
