Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to an Army Engagement event, which was organised by and held at The Potteries Museum in Stoke-on-Trent.
These events are ran by the Army Engagement Group (AEG), which tours the country engaging with local communities to give them a greater understanding of the British Army; who they are, what they do, and how they contribute to society.
The AEG has four teams, and it was Army Engagement Team 1 who visited The Potteries Museum. They delivered an extremely engaging and informative multi-media presentation, which was followed by a question and answer session and a reception, where visitors were able to meet soldiers and ask them questions in a more informal setting.
It was an interesting and enlightening evening, which has given me an even greater respect for our armed forces, and they work they do.
