Funeral of the Under Sheriff

The funeral of Paul Slater, Under Sheriff of Staffordshire, was held at the Collegiate Church of St. Mary, Stafford this afternoon.  Paul died on 22nd February aged 59.  He served eleven High Sheriffs with a sure touch, steering us wisely and with humour through paths new to us.  Many were in church today to remember a very special man who we were proud to consider a friend.  Our thoughts are with his wife Clare and daughter Geraldine.
