What an interesting morning visiting Stafford Prison and being taken on a tour by the Governor who patiently answered all our many questions. Having driven past the high wall and huge wooden gate so many times it is fascinating to see what is behind the façade. I wonder if any other prison has such unexpectedly beautiful Georgian architecture. I am pictured with Paws the Bear who is the embodiment of an initiative by Mind to focus on mental health in the prison system for both prisoners and staff. Paws will be touring prisons throughout the UK and is currently resident in Stafford.
