My Chaplain Rev’d Gerald Gardiner came with me to HMYOI Brinsford to attend their Long Service Awards Presentation on 14th December.
The last couple of years, with Covid lockdowns, bubbles, and high levels of staff absence through self-isolating, have been very tough for prisoners and prison staff alike.
It was great to see due recognition given to the commitment and dedication of the winners of these Long Service Awards at HMYOI Brinsford.
Sadly ,with rising levels of Covid cases across the country, particularly the new Omicron variant, we are hearing of the cancellation of all prison Carol Services. I was looking forward to the opportunity of visiting, or re-visiting, more of the eight prisons in our county.
