The Coroners Service in Stoke on Trent & North Staffordshire, consists of x4 Staffordshire Police employed Coroners Officers (CO’s) who are in turn assisted by a small pool of resilience Coroners Officers. The Local Authority provide administrative back up in the form of x4 Coroners Service Support Officers (CSSO’s) and three Mortuary Technicians, known as Anatomical Pathology Technicians (APT’s). HM Senior Coroner, in addition to overseeing the above, manages the Area Coroner, Ms. Emma SERRANO and a small team of Assistant Coroners – Mrs Margaret JONES, Miss Sarah MURPHEY and Mr Anthony CURZON.  |
HM Coroner nominated the entire team, “The Coroners Service” for the High Sherriff’s Certificate on account of their unfailing support, dedication, hard work and flexibility during a period of great change and uncertainty and throughout the pandemic.
