On the 5th February, I was fortunate enough to be able to spend the day with South Staffordshire Coroner, Andrew Haigh. The day began with a tour of the mortuary, which was a respectful and peaceful environment, where care was clearly taken by staff as they performed roles with consideration. This was followed by lunch at Andrew’s office, during which we discussed his role, the challenges he faces, and plans for the future.
I then had the opportunity to sit in the Coroners Court at the County Building in Stafford during a hearing regarding the finding of treasure within the county.
I would like to thank Andrew for his kind invitation and for giving his time and knowledge.
