The covid lockdowns have profoundly affected the usual cycle of Civic Services held by incoming Mayors and Chairs of Staffordshire’s Borough and District Councils, which couldn’t happen at all in 2020. So it was that, instead of being in May & June this year, it was in September and October that I had the pleasure of attending Civic services across the length and breadth of our fantastic county, from Tamworth in the east, to Kinver in the south, and my own Borough of Newcastle-under -Lyme.
A Quizz Night hosted by Chairman of Staffordshire County Council, Cllr Paul Snape, to raise money for his Chairman’s charities, and a curry evening at O India, hosted by The Lord Mayor of Stoke, Dr/Cllr Chandra Kanneganti to raise money for his Lord Mayor’s charities, were both thoroughly enjoyable occasions.
