On Tuesday 28th June, The High Sheriff and his Consort, Lesley were invited by The Mayor and Mayoress of Stafford to join them and fellow distinguished guests for a memorable evening of Shakespeare under the stars at Stafford Castle.
After two years away due to the pandemic, a Gala Performance of Romeo and Juliet marked the 30th anniversary of Shakespeare productions at the Castle which began with Henry V in 1991. The Bard’s classic love story tells of two star-crossed lovers in Renaissance Verona, their duelling families and their twisted fates.
The producers at the Gatehouse Theatre were delighted that over 6,000 tickets for the production were sold.
The High Sheriff and his Consort enjoyed pre-show and interval drinks and would like to extend their grateful thanks to The Mayor and Mayoress of Stafford for a most enjoyable evening.
