On Friday 6th May The High Sheriff attended the Trent and Dove Community Impact Awards at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton upon Trent, where he addressed the attendees as the Chairman of Burton Albion Football Club and The High Sheriff of Staffordshire.
This year marks the 16th annual Impact on the Community Awards, which recognises all of the vital work carried out by individual people and organisations in our community while shining a spotlight on the projects which are transforming homes, lives and communities. The success of the 2021 Covid Hero Awards, has seen the partnership of the Burton Albion Community Trust and the Community Impact Awards as they share the same core values. The Burton Albion Community Trust has been at the heart of life in East Staffordshire for the last 12 years, as the Trust and the Football Club work tirelessly to make a positive impact in the community it serves, through education, physical and mental wellbeing and employability.
The Chairman addressed the nominees and their guests with a speech highlighting the history of the role as a High Sheriff of Staffordshire, his goals for his year in office, his involvement with the Burton Addiction Centre, Burton YMCA and Burton Albion Community Trust and highlighted the incredible work and impact that the nominated individuals and organisations have had on the local community.
The High Sheriff would like to congratulate all of the award winners on their success and extend his thanks to all the nominees for their fantastic work in the community. In addition, he would like to extend his thanks to Trent and Dove and the Burton Albion Community Trust for organising an incredible event.
