On Saturday 18th June The High Sheriff was delighted to attend the Vaccination Volunteers Celebrations at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton upon Trent. The English Football League recognised the Pirelli Vaccination Centre as the Best Community Project of the Year from all the league clubs competing in the English Football League.
The first vaccination was administered at the Pirelli Stadium COVID-19 Vaccination Centre in December 2020, which was the catalyst for an incredible pandemic response in the local community. Eighteen months later over 300,000 vaccinations had been administered saving the lives of countless local residents. This fantastic community response would not have been possible without the selfless volunteers who put their hands up in the midst of a national emergency and the support of the Burton Albion Community Trust. Lord Lieutenant Ian Dudson CBE KStJ presented volunteers with certificates and COVID badges as a token of appreciation for their dedication to vaccinating our community to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
The High Sheriff would like to thank all of the volunteers and the Burton Albion Community Trust for their fantastic response to vaccinating the local community.
