On Tuesday 22nd March , at a ceremony in The County Buildings, Martin Street, Stafford, ten Charities operating in Staffordshire received a High Sheriff’s Award.
They were predominantly charities working in areas such as youth provision, care-leavers, prison-leavers and veteran support. which had come to my attention over the past year.
I was delighted to present each with a framed Certificate, together with a cash grant from the money raised over my Shrieval year, match-funded by The Community Foundation for Staffordshire.
Recipients were Changes Tamworth, Walk Ministries, Symmetrical, SARAC, Oak Tree Farm Rural Project, The Fun Club Hub in Lichfield & Burntwood, Kibblestone Scouts, Endon Well Dressers, TriServices and Veteran Support, and the Burton Conservation Volunteers.
I was pleased to also thank Louise Morris of TTTV (Transforming the Trent Valley) for all her help in planning my High Sheriff’s Tour of the Trent last summer, walking, cycling and canoeing the length of the River Trent through Staffordshire, raising money for The High Sheriff Fund out of which these cash awards have been made.
