Newcastle District Scouts “Castle Capers” Gang Show
Off to the Mitchell Arts Centre in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent to celebrate 50 years of Newcastle District Scouts with “Castle Capers” Gang Show, a dazzling showcase of young talent made possible by 16 weeks of rehearsals and countless volunteer hours.

Home-Start Tamworth KAVS
Tamworth Castle today where Home-Start Tamworth were honoured with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Sir Ian Dudson.
An amazing group, run by volunteers and supporting local families. I met the volunteers providing support and services and heard from grateful parents and children helped by Home- Start. Thank you to Edna Schafer-Hughes (Chair) & Dawn Candy (CEO) of Home-Start Tamworth for such a warm welcome!

VIP reception & superb performances from Jill Clewes academy students to celebrate receiving the King’s Award, presented by Sir Ian Dudson. 80 wonderful volunteers present, and I enjoyed speaking to them and all delightful students. Congratulations Jill Clewes MBE!!

Trinity Term Crown Court Opening
My First of Three! Procession from County Buildings to the Collegiate Church of St. Mary’s in Stafford. A beautiful Service, replete with Trumpeters, Organist maestro Margaret Oulton and the St. Mary’s Choir. Huge shout out to: Rev. Richard Grigson, Revd. John Davies and my Chaplain, Revd. Ian Cardinal for leading such a magnificent occasion. Formal procession on to Stafford Crown Court where HH KC Judge Kristina Montgomery presided over the Trinity Term Court Opening, then all off to Lunch in County Buildings.

A Civic Dinner organised by Stone Town Mayor & Mayoress helped raise funds for 2 splendid causes. Stone House Hotel delivered delicious food, and the Mayor’s Chaplain, Revd. Jim Cartlidge, delivered a fabulous after dinner Speech.

An uplifting event! I accompanied The Deputy Lieutenant, Charles Julian Mitchell, to Lichfield Cathedral for St. George’s Day Celebration of Scouting. Thank you, Revd. Jan McFarlane, for the lovely warm welcome! Very proud of Lichfield District Scouts. Also delighted to have the opportunity of thanking Scout Leaders who so generously volunteer their time & energy.

Anzac Drumhead Remembrance Service
I was honoured to attend this poignant Service and lay the High Sheriff’s wreath at Cannock Chase War Cemetery where we paid tribute to the soldiers from Australia, New Zealand, and Tonga who showed incredible bravery during the First World War. Thank you always to Chas Dale & Stafford Branch RBL for your dedicated efforts.
