Thank you to The Mayor, Cllr. Barry Birch and Mrs Teena Birch for a wonderfully warm welcome. I joined the Parade from Silk Street to the Church, where a memorable Service – conducted by Reverend Nigel Irons – ensued & during which Mark Birch sang beautifully. A delightful reception followed, with the opportunity to connect with the people of Leek and appreciate the town’s rich medieval history.

The Sheriff’s Ride, Lichfield

A traditional event celebrating the history and heritage of the Sheriff’s role in Lichfield, Staffordshire. It typically involves a procession of horseback riders, ceremonial speeches, and gatherings, including The Mayor, local dignitaries, and the community. The Sheriff’s ride is part of a historic tradition, and local participants often join in to celebrate the community spirit and heritage. We started at The Guildhall where The Sheriff of Lichfield, Cathy Wood, gave a speech before we rode with the Clerk of Course, Nick Sedgwick. The ride included a delightful light lunch. Thank you to Adam Mace-Burns, The Mayor, Sam Schafer & The Sheriff’s Ride Committee for a memorable day!
